Rewarding yourself for achieving your goals is an important and often overlooked step in the process of reaching those goals.
A few years ago, I was just starting out as an entrepreneur, and I had no idea what I was doing. Then one of my mentors who had been where I was gave me this advice. Start. You'll only get better.
There is a lot of advice available to anyone starting a business.
Advice should be something that you can carry with you at times when you need to make a decision or take action. That advice should help to direct you to a positive conclusion.
I have used the advice about starting so many times.
When you’re starting out in business, it’s easy to over-think and over-plan.
You have a million ideas about what you should do first. Do A, then B, then C. If X happens, we can try Y... Sound familiar? You’re not alone—everyone thinks like that! But while these plans and strategies might sound good on paper (or your iPhone Notes app), they often don’t work in real life. Instead of trying to develop and execute dozens of plans at once, stick with one thing and do it well before moving on to something else. It will take less time, be easier to manage, allow you to build momentum, and save you from burnout—and stress!
Your ultimate goal should be to get your business up and running.
That might mean researching, writing a business plan, forming an LLC or setting up a merchant account (for e-commerce). All of those steps count as making progress—and that's what matters. It doesn't matter how slowly you're moving forward; just keep moving forward.
